Zoga Therapy in Pediatrics- Musculoskeletal Relaxation Module 1
Zoga Therapy in Pediatrics is a training focused on the manual release of musculoskeletal restrictions used in pediatrics especially with children with neurological problems. Manual work supported by structural and functional examination and support of tissue release in movement with the active participation of the therapist directing the patient’s movement. Exercises used to restore soft tissue gliding are pediatric adaptations of movements derived from the Zoga Movement method. The overall approach is a comprehensive therapeutic approach for working with children.
Superficial tissues located at the front of the body
The goal is to learn the course of fibers and structures located at the front of the body. We will teach methods of functional assessment, as well as muscle and fascial relaxation techniques used in this area.
Superficial tissues located at the back of the body
Discuss the course of structures at the back of the body, functional assessment, and techniques for musculofascial release work. This portion of the training focuses on the interaction of the foot with the ground and the consequences of this imbalance in the rest of the body. It will allow you to create strategies for improving foot and leg mechanics for pelvic stability and spinal performance.
Tissues on the lateral side of the body
Discuss the tissues on the lateral side along with tools in the form of techniques used with the youngest. Conducting a demonstration session by the instructor on an outside patient. Coursework on children.
Discuss the functional analysis of how tension disorders within these structures will affect the position of the feet, knees and pelvis in relation to the chest and head. Second demo session with instructor and students will work with children.
Deep tissues, musculofascial connections of the upper limbs and functional
Discussion of the musculofascial connections and selected techniques for deep tissues. Introduction to working on deep musculofascial structures. Third demo session and students will work with children.
33 hours of instruction
– Detailed Anatomy of the area – short and intense presentations showing the most interesting insights into anatomical structures supported by autopsy recordings, palpation
anatomy, presented in an interesting and understandable way.
– Postural Analysis – common movement and postural consequences – how to see and read the intricacies of individual patterns.
– Musculoskeletal Release Techniques – each technique is shown with understanding and a thorough “feel” for it so that they can be used immediately upon returning from training for daily therapeutic work.
– Working with children with different problems.
